Bangladesh Premier League 2023: Sylhet Strikers Won the Match by 5 Wickets

The match between Sylhet Strikers and Dhaka Dominators was played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Dhaka’s captain Nasir Hossain won the toss and decided to bat.

Usman Ghani and Soumya Sarkar came to the middle to start the inning, and Rubel Hossain opened the bowling attack. On the second ball, Usman Ghani almost ran out and got a life. Rubel sent Soumya Sarkar to the pavilion on an inswinger. Usman Ghani hit the first boundary of the inning on Usman Ghani in the second over. After 3 over, DHDM was 18-1.

Imad Wasim was bowling the last over of powerplay and took the back-to-back two wickets. He took the wicket of Munaweera on the second ball and Robin Das on the third ball. Mohammad Mithun denied the hattrick as he defended the inswinger. After 6 overs, DHDM was 32-3.

DHDM reached 50 runs on the third ball of the 10th over. Usman Ghani returned to the pavilion after scoring 27(28) runs. Sylhet Strikers batters Mohammad Haris and Shanto came to the field to chase 129 runs, and Slaman Irshad started the bowling attack. Shanto hit the first boundary to Salman on the fourth ball. Al-Amin Hossain came into the attack in the third over and delivered an expensive over. Mohammad Haris smashed back-to-back three boundaries - one six and two fours. After 3 over, SYST was 22-0. Shanto and Mohammad Hari's partnership continued and reached his team to 50 runs in 7.4 overs. Nasir Hossain provided the first success to his team and bowled Shanto. Mohammad Haris hit six runs in the same overs and lost his wickets on the next ball after scoring 44(32) runs.

Zakir Hasan came and went as Arafat Sunny took his wicket. After 10 overs, SYST was 66-3. Imad Wasim got run out in the 16th over after scoring 11(20) runs. After 16 overs, SYST was 98-4. SYST reached 100 runs in the second ball of the 17th over. Mushfiqur Rahim returned to the pavilion on the 18th over on Taskin Ahmed. SYST required 20 runs in the last two overs, and Thisara Parera hit two fours, and Akbar Ali smashed one six in the 19th over of the match and gathered 18 runs. Thisara Parera ended the match with a six. The side scored 134/5 and won the match by 5 wickets.
