Zimbabwe Vs. Netherlands T20 World Cup 2022 - Match Preview

Zimbabwe will face the Netherlands in the 34th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday, November 2nd, at 9:30 a.m. IST (2:30 p.m. local time) at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

With an outstanding effort, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by a run and had a chance to upset the applecart in Group 1. However, a bizarre finish in their game against Bangladesh ruined their campaign to a large extent. They would have been second on the table with five points if they had capitalised on Bangladesh's error under pressure. But they didn't, and their qualification is contingent on several other outcomes.

The Netherlands' Super 12 campaign has been rigorous, and they have already been eliminated. But just getting to this point - ahead of Namibia - is impressive. Despite losing all three games at this point, they have been anything but pushovers, and their desire for points may be satisfied on Wednesday.

Zimbabwe and the Netherlands will enter the game with opposing agendas with similar strengths. These two teams have lined up with a slew of impressive pacers who have taken wickets in a World Cup dominated by fast bowlers. In Adelaide, the day game may come down to which set outbowls the other.

Match Details  When: Wednesday, November 2 at 02:00 PM Local time, 09:30 AM IST

What to expect: Pacers on both sides will happily indulge in full lengths and engage opposing batters in a you-miss-I-hit contest with the venue's more extended straight boundaries.

T20I head-to-head: In four T20Is between the two, Zimbabwe has won two, and the Netherlands has won one. The fourth game was a tie. Last July, these two teams met in the finals of the World Cup Qualifiers' second round in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe defeated the Netherlands in this match.
