Key Highlights 

• WI won the toss and invited Scotland to bat first

With both the captains on the field, West Indies took the lead for winning the toss and chose to field first on Bellerive Oval, Hobart. 

 The pitch was entirely covered with well-grown grass, and the great firmness level of the pitch was expected for an excellent ball delivery, trusting the pace and bounce of the ball. 

 Due to drizzling, the match also got delayed in the initial over, but the ground staff's efforts led them to proceed with the match for the pre-decided overs only. 

 Munsey and Michael Jones started the innings at the crease with Mayers to open the bowling attack. 

 Pacing up the match from the start, Michael Jones took the toss outside off on great timing, adding two fours for the Scotland side; the score started at 9-0 in the first over.  

 Joining the fun and keeping up the zest of the fans, Munsey smashed bumper on the stumps, picking the ball up for three fours in the 3rd over. 

 On a throw from Alzarri Joseph, Munsey grabbed a hat-trick of boundaries in the 4th over, moving the score to 41 in just 4 overs. The duo proved lethal and crossed half-century after 5 overs with a score of 50 without loss of any wicket. 

 At 6.1 overs, Michael Jones lost his wicket to Holder but he ended up getting a healthy edge for Scotland. 

 To proceed the game further, Matthew Cross came up to the crease with the bat but made no strengthening contribution for the team. Losing his wicket to Holder again, SCO stood at a score of 62-1 after 8 overs. 

 Breaking the monotony of singles, Berrington hit the roof, getting a six in 10.5 overs on a delivery from Akeal Hosein.

 Smacking consistent drives over the covers, MacLeod made the fullest of the delivery from Obed McCoy, pushing SCO to cross the century, standing at a score of 107-3 after 14 overs. 

 At 16.2 overs, Munsey got the first 50 in the T20 World Cup. Till the last over, Munsey kept his name up on the batters, remaining unbeaten at a score of 66 off 53. With Munsey and Chris Greaves on the ground, SCO set a score of 160-5 in 20 overs in the 

WI vs Scotland match

. Mayers and Lewis started the run chase of 161, facing the bowling of Mark Watt. With an ideal start, Mayers got the first boundary and another in the next ball, getting a score of 10 after 2 overs. Adding 20 to the side, Mayers lost his wicket to Davey. After 6 overs, West Indies crossed the half-century, scoring 53-2 after 6 overs. 

 Brandon King and Pooran tried to settle down on the crease but lost their wickets in the 8th and 9th over, respectively. Sharif bowled his second over brilliantly, allowing West Indies to score only three runs from his over. West Indies scored 69 runs with a loss of 4 wickets after 10 overs.

 Powell 5(6) and Shamarh Brooks 4(9) came to the crease to chase but caught out in the 11th and 12th overs. Leask dismissed  Powell and Wheal took the wicket of Shamarh Brooks. One another wicket was gone from the account of Scotland. Alzarri Joseph 0(1) was gone before even starting his inning. West Indies was at 89/8 after 15 overs.

 Mark Watt was trying to hit boundaries but could not find his pace and lost his wicket in the 17th  over. That was an excellent performance by Scotland's bowlers. Safyaan Sharif took the last wicket of Holder and credited the victory in the account of Scotland.

 It is observed that the team that wins the toss is more likely to win the match but Scotland proved it wrong with its performance in today’s match. WI needs to win its next match to remain in the tournament.
