WOMEN ASIA CUP T20 2022: THAILAND WOMEN OVERPOWERED UAE WOMEN BY 19 RUNS

For the match proceedings, the captains of both teams came to the crease and United Arab Emirates women won the toss, choosing to field first. 

 

 The pitch was a little grass with it being a little more sticky. The initial conditions of the pitch were much favoring for the bowlers which later transformed to get good for the batters. 

 

 Koncharoenkai and Natthakan Chantham came to open the batting attack on the ground to face the bowling attack of Chaya Mughal. 

 

 Chaya Mughal kept the bowling lines tight and restricted, preventing Thai women to score just 5 runs in the 1st overs and Mahika Gaur took the first wicket of Koncharoenkai. 

 

 With Chaiwai on the crease, Thai women played the first four of the innings, meanwhile, Natthakan Chantham struggled to score runs for the first few overs. She found the gap to hit a boundary in 4.3 overs. 

 

 Scoring just 12 off 17 deliveries, Natthakan Chantham was caught and bowled out on a throw from Khushi Sharma, Thai women scored 32-2 after 6.1 overs. 

 

 Indhuja Nandakumar and Vaishnave Mahesh pressurised Tippoch and Chawai to score significant runs but Tippoch chipped down the track and smashed the ball long on the fence for a six in 12.5 overs, moving the score to 61-2 after 13 overs, crossing half-century. 

 

 Posing Thailand to a strength, Chaiwai lost her wicket to Chaya Mughal, scoring 36 off 48 deliveries. Sharing the batting with Rosenan Kanoh, both the batters crossed the century, restricting the score to 108-4 in 20 overs. 

 

 For the run chase of 109, the top order batters, Esha Oza and Kavisha Egodage came to the crease while Boochatham opened the bowling attack.

 

 For the first three overs, Sutthiruang, Boochatham, and Thipatcha bowled strong enough for the opponent batters to score minimum runs, UAE got just 11 runs after 4 overs. 

 

 Kavisha Egodage played a fine ball behind the square to hit a four on a throw from Boochtham. Phannita Maya came on the bowling attack and took the wicket of Esha Oza, scoring just 3 in 16 balls. After 9 overs, UAEW stood at 40-2. The run association of Kavisha Egodage and Khushi Sharma managed to move the figures, crossing half-century with a score of 51-2 after 12 overs. Both the batters lost their wickets in two consecutive overs with Natasha Cherriath & Chaya Mughal taking the batting charge. 

 

 Thai women thrashed UAW women taking back to back wickets in the next overs, allowing them to score 89-8 in 20 overs.

 

 Thailand women won the match by 19 runs against UAE women.
