WOMEN ASIA CUP T20 2022: Pakistan W Outclass India W by 13 Runs

On the grounds of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet, on October 7, 2022, the captains of both the teams came up for the toss and Pakistan women won the toss and opted to bat first. 

 

 The pitch was very dry to assist spinners and good for batting as well comparatively better than the first game. 

 

 Muneeba Ali and Ameen came to the crease to face the bowling attack of Renuka Singh. Both the batters got 5 runs in the first over. 

 

 Ameen found the opportunity to slap at the width and got the first boundary of the innings and another four in the consecutive over. She lost her wicket to Vastrakar. Pakistan women managed to score 28 runs, losing a wicket after 5 overs. 

 

 Pakistani fans got disheartened by the loss of the wicket of  Muneeba Ali to Deepti Sharma, getting runs figures of 17 in 17 balls. Deepti led no room to Omaima Sohail to score her and took the wicket at 0 runs. Pakistan had a score of 33-3 after 6 overs. 

 

 The sloppy partnership of Nida Dar and Bismah Maroof managed to lift the score to 45-3 after 8 overs. After playing 9 overs, Pakistan women crossed half-century; Pak at 53-3. 

 

 Bismha Maroof took the batting charge to stab away some deliveries for a couple single runs. Smashing multiple fours and a six in her innings, Nida Dar kept the hopes of Pak fans alive, moving the score to 79-3 after 12 overs. Joining the fun, Maroof drove the ball long off for the boundary and crossed the century, scoring 107-3 after 15 overs. 

 

 Renuka Singh threw the yorker on the stumps and took the wicket of Maroof. She got 32 (35) single-handedly. 

 

 In 16.4 overs, Nida Dar scored her 6th fifty in T20 format. After playing all the 20 overs, Pak women squad restricted the score to 137-6. 

 

 To chase a target of 138 runs, Meghana and Mandhana came to the crease to face the bowling attack of Sadia Iqbal. Meghana aired up the delivery of Nida Dar that went up the ropes for a six. India women scored 15 after 2 overs with no loss of wicket. 

 

 Scoring 15 off 12, Meghana lost her wicket to Nashra Sandhu but Mandhan continued the chase with her shots; India at 30-2 after 6 overs. On a ball from Nashra Sandhu, Madhana lost her wicket after scoring 17 in 19 balls. With Dayalan Hemalatha and Pooja Vastrakar on the crease, India scored 50-3 after 10 overs. 

 

 With Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma on the crease, India had a score of 77-5 after 14 overs. Getting 12 off 12, Kaur lost her wicket to Nida Dar, moving the score to 91-7 after 16.1 overs. 

 

 At the crunch over, Richa Ghosh slogged for two sixes in the 17th over but lost her wicket to Sadia Iqbal after 18.2 overs, scoring 26 in 13 balls. 

 

 India women failed to chase the run score of Pakistan women and lost the match by 13 runs.
