Waseem’s Crucial Fifty Against Namibia Kept the UAE’s Super 12s Dream Alive

For the toss of the 10th match of the Group A, the captains came to the ground, Simonds Stadium, Geelong where United Arab Emirates won and opted to bat first.

 

 Muhammad Waseem and Aravind came to the crease to open the batting attack with Trumpelmann on the delivering attack. The duo scored 11 runs after 2 overs. 

 

 Stumping the first six of the innings, Muhammad Waseem filled a wave of enthusiasm for the team and among the fans. Looking to preserve the wickets, the UAE batters made a tepid start for the first five overs. Scoring 21 off 32, Aravind lost his wicket to Scholtz. The right handed-batter took the batting charge accompanying Muhammad Waseem and moved the score to cross the half-century at a score of 58-1 after 10 overs. 

 

 Being in a monster form, Muhammad Waseem left no opportunity for crunching beautiful fours and sixes with Rizwan joining the fun and shifting the run score to 89-1 after 14 overs. 

 

 Drilling 50 runs single-handedly, Waseem got caught out to Trumpelmann on a throw from Ben Shikongo in 14.5th over. Rizwan added significant runs for the side and helped the team cross the century, with them standing at a score of 10-4-2 after 16 overs. 

 

 Rizwan stood tough in the death overs and with Basil Hameed on the pitch, UAE got a total score of 148-3 in 20 overs. 

 

 To begin the run chase of 149 runs, Michael van Lingen and Baard came up in the middle with the bat and opened the match with Basil Hameed on the first bowling attack. 

 

 Slipping the first wicket of Baard to Junaid Siddique in the initial overs, Namibia got a little disturbed, scalping a score of 10 runs after 2 overs. In the consecutive over, Michael van Lingen lost his wicket to Basil Hameed. After 6 overs, the team managed to score 34-3 after 6 overs. 

 

 Playing for 10 overs, Namibia crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 53-5. Scoring 14 off 17, Jan Frylinck lost his wicket to Zahoor Khan. 

 

 With Trumpelmann smashing sixes and fours in the 16th over, the side managed to cross century with a score of 103-7 after 16 overs.
