The Top 5 Indian Batters Who Have Scored the Most Runs in International Cricket

India has been playing one-day international cricket since 1974, and their batting has been crucial to their success. India used to be known for its batting, but with the 2011 World Cup, the nation gained recognition as a squad that excels in every aspect of cricket. The list of the top 5 run scorers in ODI cricket history also includes four Indian batsmen. Let's speak about the Indian cricketers who have scored the

 most international runs for India

 in ODIs.

Sachin Tendulkar

For India in ODIs, Sachin Tendulkar has scored the most runs (18426). With 34347 runs, he was the game's leading run-scorer and enjoyed a 23-year distinguished ODI career (1989-2012). The most number of hundreds and fifties in One Day cricket belongs to Sachin. The player with the most runs scored (12000) is also the one who was not out the most times (41). Additionally, Tendulkar is the only batsman to ever score a double century in ODIs.

He has played 452 innings in total for India international cricket

in which he has scored 18426 runs with an average of 44.83 and a strike rate of 86.23. He has hit 96 50s and 49 100s.

Virat Kohli

The second-most runs (12344) in one-day international cricket have been scored by Virat Kohli. He has so far participated in 13 ODIs for India (2008-continue). In the annals of one-day international cricket, Virat holds the greatest batting average (57.68). Virat has been considered the finest player in this format ever by several analysts. In the international India cricket team, Virat is thought to be the only player who can surpass Sachin's record of 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries. Since his debut, Virat has consistently scored runs for India in ODIs. In ODI cricket, Kohli also leads all players with 10,000 runs scored in strike rate (92,83).

He has played 253 innings in total and has scored 12344 runs in total with an average of 57.68 and a strike rate of 92.83. He has made 64 50s and 43 100s.

Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian captain, comes in third place for scoring the most runs (11363) for India in ODI cricket. Ganguly is one of only five players to have amassed over 10,000 runs for India in ODIs. In 1992, against the West Indies, Ganguly played in his first ODI. He continued to play till 2008. Ganguly averaged 41 while playing against some of cricket's greatest bowlers. He also served as the team's captain for six years (1999–2005) through 147 games, winning 76 of them. He steered the

to victory in the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy.

He has played 297 innings in total and has scored 11363 runs in total with an average of 41 and a strike rate of 73.65. He has made 72 50s and 22 100s.

Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid secures fourth place on the list of Indian players who have scored the most runs (10,889) in ODI cricket. Rahul Dravid has been referred to by the cricket community as "a test player." Rahul, though, performed just as admirably in One Day International. He is one of the players in history whose faultless batting has worn out bowlers. Among Indian players in ODIs, Dravid has the second-highest total of the fifties (83). His runs have been accumulated with a respectable average of 39.16.

He has played 314 innings in total and has scored 10889 runs in total with an average of 39.16 and a strike rate of 71.18. He has hit 83 50s and 13 100s.

MS Dhoni

In one-day international cricket, MS Dhoni, a former captain of India, has scored 10773 runs, which ranks fifth overall. The only lower-order batsman in the world to surpass 10,000 runs in a One Day International is MS Dhoni. Dhoni played until 2019 after making his ODI debut in 2004 against Bangladesh. He bats at positions 6 and 7, but his batting average of 50.23 is beguiling. Dhoni also owns the distinction of having survived the most ODI innings without being dismissed (84) times. Dhoni has been India's ODI captain for 11 years (2007–2018) and is third in winning percentage (59.52).
