He wasn't known for his aggressive batting, contrary to the format's assumption, but he eventually advanced to become one of the best top-order batters ever. Jayawardene made a huge contribution to his nation's success in the 2014 ICC competition with 158 runs.  Jayawardene was a devout and honourable athlete from his nation who used to hold himself high for the benefit of his team. Furthermore, he was ruthless to the opposition batters, striking out at a rate of 158.78 percent.

He had a 126.25 strike rate while playing at a 60.60 average. They gave it their all, but they were unable to raise the World Cup trophy.

 His strike rate remains constant throughout all of his playing formats at 131.52. During the T20 World Cup, he has consistently been on fire, scoring eight times or more.

 

 Babar Azam, though, has exceeded the mark the most of any batter in the World Cup four times.
