Covid-19 is a global pandemic that has affected the daily lives of people, and cricket was no exception for amateur to professional-level players. Usually, a team gets two DRS to overturn the decision of the field umpire. Due to Covid-19, traveling was quite risky so the home team can only acquire the umpire from the home country. The same has made the decision levied by the umpire questionable. To aid the same ICC has declared DRS attempts to be 3 instead of 2 to have a more impartial gaming experience.  

Special Substitute Regulation for Special Circumstances

To aid the condition due to covid-19, teams are provided the privilege to carry more substitute players. The same enables a team to continue with the game; in case a player gets severely injured or gets infected by covid-19. The game must not be affected by the same and teams can entertain esteemed audiences and their followers with their games and it was a sensible precaution.

Social Distancing While Playing on the Field

Due to the conditions that were prevailing, despite playing on the same ground or maybe the same international cricketers were obliged to maintain social distance from other players. The same ensured a safe and sound gaming experience that was required. It was a rational measure that respective teams were required to follow. As per the government guidelines, this too was obligatory. Ignorance of the same could have caused more chances of catastrophic outcomes that not only would have affected the gaming experience but could cause the demise of certain players or at least severe health issues that may have affected the overall well-being of players.

An Obligation for Players and Umpires to Sanitize Periodically

Players and umpires needed to sanitize regularly to avoid any sort of unprecedented turmoil. The same created a low risk of covid-19 spreading among the players. With the same, players feeling more safe while playing on the field considering the extant situation around the globe. These precautions were not something that was optional and players were obliged to follow the required precautionary norms. The negligence of the same could have caused an unfortunate turn of events and hence was strictly followed by esteemed people playing on the grounds.

Business Dilemma

Due to covid-19 pandemic, there was a business dilemma the cricket industry was facing. For instance, established players can manage their expenses but for those players who just started, the pandemic hit hard them. Apart from this, the revenue was generated comprehensively because matches were not played due to heavy restrictions. Furthermore, the vendors cannot do business, and ticket selling was almost undone due to hefty restrictions posed by the governing bodies all over the globe.
