The Final World Cup 2023 Squad for India Announced: Ashwin Replaces Injured Axar

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee, which is led by Ajit Agarkar, has recently revealed the final 15-member Indian squad to appear in the forthcoming matches as the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 approaches. The only changeover made in the team is that it has replaced Axar Patel due to his severe injury, thus, giving R Ashwin a chance to showcase his cricketing prowess to the world.

More About the Recent Update of the Indian Squad

A professional left-arm spinner, Axar Patel has been sidelined since the Asia Cup 2023 final earlier this month as he was dealing with a left quadriceps injury. He is expected to miss three weeks of action and, therefore, Washington Sundar replaced him in the Asia Cup final that occurred recently. Now, in the three-match ODI series against Australia, due to his slow recovery, Ravichandran Ashwin took his place. The BCCI selectors finally replaced Patel with Ashwin by considering his performance against Australia since Patel was unable to recover in time.

His fierce batting skills, medium-fast bowling, innings finishing off skills, exceptional fielding along with his support for his teammates and leadership quality set him apart from others.

Shubham Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav

Virat Kohli

Kohli, the former captain of the India squad team is one of the world's premier batsmen and has contributed significantly to the success of the Indian team in the records of cricket tournaments. This time again, you can see his crucial role in the team's campaign for the upcoming ICC World Cup.

Ravichandran Ashwin

There were two contenders, Ashwin and Washington, to replace the injured player Axar but the selectors got stuck with the performance of Ashwin and chose him in the void place. It was decided because of the great performance given by Ashwin as he picked up four wickets in the ODI series vs. the Australian team.
