The Ashes, 2023: England vs Australia, 5th Test, Preview

The final and last match of The Ashes will start on July 27 and Australia had retained the series by taking the unbeaten lead by 2-1. At the start of The Ashes, England had thought to bring back the trophy but had failed and lost the 2 matches out of four. They had managed to win only one and rain prevented England from winning the last match.

Australia will try to win the last match to name the series after 22 years. Irrespective of the final match result, Cummins & Co. will return home with the trophy. This Ashes series has been quite entertaining and thrilling, as every match has gone to the last day and last hours. In the first Test match, Australia won the match by 2 wickets and their skipper somehow managed to cross the finish line.

Australia also named the next match by registering a 43 runs win over England. The English skipper played a stunning inning but they couldn't finish the line. With this win, Australia took a strong lead.

After losing back-to-back two matches, England came back in the third match and won the match by 3 wickets. However, like all other matches, it also was entertaining and enthralling. In this match, England made some major changes and it paid off.

In the last and fourth Test match, England played his best playing XI and it helped them to be in the strong position. Their baseball approach put them in a strong position but rain helped Australia to escape from a loss and took an unbeaten lead.

Date & Time  Jul 27-Jul 31, 11:00 AM LOCAL, 3:30 PM IST

Venue  Kennington Oval, London

Pitch Report

The Oval ground will offer a lot of bounce and the ball will carry to the keeper but batters can make runs. This pitch is likely similar to the World Test Championship. The speedster like Mark Wood can be the biggest threat to the opposition due the bounce and carry.
