The Ashes, 2023: England vs Australia, 3rd Test, Day 1: Mitchell Marsh's Century Recovered Australia; Leading by 195 Runs

England and Australia squared off in the third Test match of Ashes. England won the toss and decided to bat first.

 Warner and Khawaja came to bat and Broad opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Warner started the over with a four and got out after scoring 4(5) on the fifth ball. In the 13th over, Khawaja got out after scoring 13(37) on the last ball. In the 15th over, Australia reached 50 runs. In the 20th over, Labuschagne hit a four on the second ball and got out after scoring 21(58) on the third ball. In the 25th over, Smith got out after scoring 22(31) on the second ball and Mitchell Marsh finished the over with a four. After the end of 1st session, Australia was at 91-4.

 In the 28th over, Mitchell Marsh started the over with a six. In the 29th over, Australia reached 100 runs. In the 38th over, Mitchell Marsh took a single and scored a half-century. In the 39th over, Mitchell Marsh hit a four on the second ball and Australia reached 150 runs. In the 44th over, the partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head reached 100 runs. In the 45th over, Mitchell Marsh smashed two fours. In the 46th over, Mitchell Marsh hammered back-to-back two fours and Australia reached 200 runs. In the 48th over, Mitchell Marsh started the over with an over and hit a six on the fourth ball, and scored a century on the fifth ball. After 50 overs, AUS was at 220-4.

 In the 51th over, Mitchell Marsh hammered back-to-back two boundaries. In the 53th over, Mitchell Marsh got out after scoring 118(118) on the first ball. After the end of the second session, Australia was at 240-5.

 In the 55th over, Head got out after scoring 39(74) on the third ball. In the 57th over, Starc got out after scoring 2(10) on the third ball, Cummins got out for a duck on the fifth ball, and Murphy finished the over with a four. In the 59th over, Carey got out after scoring 8(16) on the second ball. In the 60th over, Murphy smashed two fours. In the 61th over, Murphy got out after scoring 13(12) on the fourth ball. It was the last wicket of Australia and they posted 263 runs on the scoreboard.

 English opener Crawley and Duckett came to bat and Starc opened the bowling attack. In the 4th over, Duckett got out after scoring 2(6) on the second ball. In the 6th over, Harry Brook got out after scoring 3(11) on the second ball. In the 9th over, England reached 50 runs. In the 14th over, Crawley got out after scoring 33(39) on the third ball. At the end of day 1, England scored 68-3, Jonny Bairstow 1(19) and Joe Root 19(43) were playing.
