T20 WC Semi Final 1: New Zealand Posted 152 Runs After a Quirky Start Against Pakistan

At Sydney Cricket Ground, New Zealand and Pakistan unveiled the first match of the semi-final stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

 The pitch was pretty dry and Pak squad has played on such pitches more than the New Zealand team. To kickstart the match, the captains of both teams came to the crease where New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first. 

 Finn Allen and Conway came first for the batting attack on the bowling of Shaheen Afridi on the bowling side for the 

Pak vs NZ match.  Undoubtedly, Finn bought the first boundary of the innings and slightly overpitched the ball which was like an absolute start for the first match of the semis. 

 However, their enthusiasm couldn’t sustain much as Afridi dismissed him in the 2nd ball only and the right-handed batter, Kane Williamson came to take the batting charge. Conway smacked two fours in the 2nd over and NZ had a score of 14-1 after 2 overs. Fueling 21r runs in 20 balls, Coway got run out on a throw from Haris Rauf and the squad reached a score of 38 after 6 overs with a loss of 2 wickets. 

 Glenn Phillips came up on the next over and crunched a four but got early dismissal from Mohammad Nawaz, who restricted his score just to 6 in 8 balls. 

 With Kane Williamson putting his hard efforts into the game and Daryl Mitchell on side, he helped his team cross the half-century with a score of 52 after 9 overs at a loss of 3 wickets. The scores are updated on the basis of the 

latest cricket updates.  Showing the wonderful innings, Mitchell took the ball long on the pitch for straight two boundaries on the 11th over and shifted the score to 73-3 after 11 overs. 

 After struggling hard, Williamson bought the first six of the innings followed by Mitchell’s six that jumped the score near to the century; 99 after 14 overs at a loss of 3 wickets. 

 Saving the prestige of the team, Williamson kept showing his power-hitting performances and flicked a shot for the boundary on a throw from Afridi. NZ reached a score of 106 after 15 overs, losing 3 wickets. 

 After getting a huge run score of 46 in 42 balls, Williamson lost his wicket to Afridi in the 17th over. 

 The left handed-batter, James Neesham took the batting charge. In the death over, Mitchell struck a beautiful four and their score got up to 133-4 after 18 overs. After 19 overs, Mitchell reached his 50. 

 With Mitchell standing tough on the pitch, New Zealand registered 152 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 4 wickets.
