Super Smash: Central Districts Ousted Northern Knights by 3 Wickets

The teams, Central Districts and Northern Knights, came up to play the 8th match of Super Smash on the grounds of Pukekura Park, New Plymouth. The former team won the toss and opted to bowl first. 

Katene Clarke and Seifert came to the middle to open the batting attack on the throw from Jayden Lennox. In the first over only, Seifert smacked two back-to-back boundaries while Clarke repeated the same attack in the 3rd over and the side got a score of 25.

In the 4th over, Seifert bought four boundaries and after 5 overs, NK crossed the half-century with a score of 56. Scoring a huge 41 off 24 deliveries, Clarke lost his wicket to Lennox. In the 10th over, Raval and Seifert smacked a four and two sixes respectively and the side crossed the century with a score of 117-1. Meanwhile, Seifert reached his 50-run stand. 

Scoring 59 off 30 balls, Seifert got a dismissal from D bracewell. After 16 overs, NK jumped to a score of 156-6. In the immediate over, Raval also crossed his 50-run stand. 

In 20 overs, NK posted 217 runs with a loss of 9 wickets. 

For the run chase of 218, Greg Hay and Ben Smith came up on the throw from Kuggeleijn. In the 2nd over, Hay crunched a four while Smith slammed three boundaries in the immediate over and CD got a score of 22 after 3 overs. 

Scoring 16 in 13 balls, Smith lost his wicket. After 6 overs, CD boys crossed the half-century with a score of 56-1. After 11 overs, CD crossed the century with a score of 103-4. In the 12th over, Clarkson got three fours. After 17 overs, the side jumped to a score of 184-5. 

In 19.4 overs, CD scored 219 runs with a loss of 7 wickets and won the match against Northern Knights by 3 wickets.
