Super Smash 2022-23: Northern Knights Won by 4 Wickets Against Central Districts

Northern Knights and Central Districts faced each other at Seddon Park, Hamilton in the 27th match. The Northern Knights won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Ma'ara Ave and Ben Smith came to bat and Kuggeleijn opened the bowling attack. Ma'ara Ave got out without scoring any runs in the first over. Will Young got out in the next over without scoring any runs. In the 5th over, Ben Smith hit the first boundary of the match and got out on the next ball after scoring 12(15). In power play, Central Districts lost 4 wickets and scored 23 runs.

In the 11th over, Josh Clarkson hit back-to-back two fours and took a single on the last ball, and reached CD to 50 scores. In the 14th over, Ross Taylor got out after scoring 19(26). Josh Clarkson hit six and four in the 15th over. In the 16th over, Doug Bracewell hit six on the first ball and Josh Clarkson hit one six and one four. After 16 overs, the CD was 93-5.

Kuggeleijn missed his half-century and got out in the 17th over after scoring 45(35). Doug Bracewell also got out in the next over after scoring 11(15). In the 19th over, CD reached 100 runs with a single.

In 20 overs, Central Districts scored 110 runs with a loss of 7 wickets.

Chasing 111 runs, Katene Clarke and Tim Seifert came to bat and Brett Randell opened the bowling attack. Katene Clarke opened the account with a four and hit one more four and six in the same over. Seifert got out in the second over without scoring any runs. Katene Clarke couldn’t convert the good start into a big score and got out after scoring 15(12).

In power, Northern Knights did not start well and lost their 4 wickets at 28 runs. In the 9th over, Hampton got out after 4(16). After 10 overs, NK was 47-5.

In the 11th over, Northern reached 50 runs. Jeet Raval scored back-to-back two fours in the 13th over and Frederick Walker hit three fours in the 17th over. Kuggeleijn hit the winning boundary. Northern Knights scored 114-6 and won the match by 4 wickets in 17.3 overs.
