Super Smash 2022-23: Canterbury Won the Match by 5 Wickets Against Wellington

Wellington and Canterbury played against each other at Basin Reserve, Wellington in the 22nd match. Canterbury won the toss and decided to bowl first.

 Devan Vishvaka and Nick Kelly came to the field, and Foulkes opened the bowling attack. Nick Kelly hit the first boundary of the match in the first over and got out on the last ball. Devan Vishvaka got out in the next over after scoring 3(4). In the third over, Ravindra hit the four and got out on the last ball. After 3 overs, WEL was 18-3.

 Troy Johnson hit two fours on William ORourke in the fourth over. After 6 overs, WEL was 37-3. Troy Johnson got out after scoring 10(11) on Todd Astle. Blundell took a single and reached their team to 50 runs. Nathan Smith smashed back-to-back two fours in the 12th over. Angus McKenzie broke the partnership as he sent Nathan Smith to the pavilion. In the 15th over, Logan van Beek hit a four and reached his team to 100 runs. Tom Blundell hit his half-century in 41 balls. After 15 overs, WEL was 190-5.

 Blundell hit back-to-back three centuries on William ORourke in the 16th over. He hit the six on Angus McKenzie and got out after it in the 17th over. In the 18th over, Jakob Bhula got out on the first ball and Logan van Beek ran out on the last ball. In the last over, William ORourke took two wickets and gave away two fours.

 Wellington scored 148 runs with a loss of 10 wickets in 19.2 overs.

 Chasing 149 runs, Ken McClure and Chad Bowes came to bat, and Logan van Beek opened the bowling attack. Bowes started the over with a four and hit one more four on the third ball. Nathan Smith took the wicket of McClure in the next over. Leo Carter smashed back-to-back two century Ollie Newton in the third over. After 3 overs, CNTBRY was 21-1.

 Leo Carter got out in the 7th over on Michael Snedden after scoring 23(22). McConchie hit a four and helped his team to score 50 runs. Bowes got out after scoring 24(22). After 10 overs, CNTBRY was 61-3.

 In the 12th over, Rachin Ravindra came into the attack and took the wicket of McConchie. After 15 overs, CNTBRY was 97-4. Canterbury reached 100 runs with a leg bye in the 16th over. Ollie Newton was brought back into the attack, and Cam Fletcher welcomed him with a four and hit one more four and six. In the last over, Canterbury required 6 runs to win, Foulkes hit a four and lost his wicket on the next ball. Cam Fletcher hit a winning four. Canterbury scored 152-5 and won the match by 5 wickets.
