Northern Strikers Overpowered Bengal Tigers By 6 Wickets

The 12th match of T10 League 2022 between Bangla Tigers and Northern Warriors was held at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Bangla Tigers won the toss and chose to bat first. 


Hazratullah Zazai and Joe Clarke opened the batting on the delivery from Irfan. In the 2nd ball only, Hazratullah Zazai bought the first boundary. Joe Clarke and Zazai nailed multiple fours and sixes, getting to a score of 37 after 3 overs. The duo led the team to cross the half-century and got a score of 52 after 4 overs. Irfan took the first wicket of Joe Clarke who scored 24 runs in 15 balls. 


Immediately, Zazai lost his wicket to Udana, restricting him at a score of 37 in 21 balls. After 8 overs, BGT reached up to a score of 87-3 after 8 overs. Evin Lewis made the last over from Emrit a magical one as he drilled 2 fours and 2 sixes. 


BGT posted 117 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of 10 overs. 


To chase the target of 118, Lyth and Kennar Lewis came to the crease on the opening bowling attack of Shakib. What a shock for Northern Warriors as Shakib dismissed Lyth in the 2nd ball only. The right handed batter, Powell took the batting charge who bought the first six for the side. After 2 overs, the team got a score of 20-1. 


Shakib took the wicket of Kennar Lewis and left handed batter, Rutherford took the batting charge who got a boundary and a six for the side. The score shifted to 39-3 after 4 overs. In the consecutive over from Mustafa, Powell hit the ball hard for two sixes, crossing the half-century with a score of 60-2 after 5 overs. 


Fueling 22 runs in 11 balls, Rutherford lost his wicket to Benny Howell and the right handed batter, Adam Hose came to the crease. With Powell standing strong on the pitch, the side reached a score of 81-2 after 7 overs. In the next over, Powell smashed two sixes that got him a 50-run stand. After 9 overs, the power of Powell and other players led the team to get 113-4.
