New York Strikers Defeated Chennai Braves by 27 runs
The 5th match of the T10 League was held between the Chennai Braves vs New York Strikers on 24 November 2022 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Yesterday, the New York Strikers were defeated by the Bangla Tigers in their first game. They are determined to win this game to make a mark on the points table. So far, the team that batted first has won all four matches. Let's see if the Chennai Braves can make a difference. The Chennai Braves won the toss and opted to bowl first. The first inning started with Muhammad Waseem and Stirling at the crease, and Patrick Dooley opened the attack. In the 4th and 5th ball of the first over, Stirling hit two back-to-back boundaries with four. However, New York Strikers lost two wickets to Muhammad Waseem and Morgan in 5 overs after making 52 runs. In the 8th over, Shepherd tried to hit boundaries but could not do so for a long time as Brookes dismissed him in 7.5 overs. The scoreboard was changed to 80 runs with a loss of 5 wickets after eight overs. Thompson finished the first inning of the match with a six, and the New York Strikers made 99 runs with a loss of 6 wickets in 10 overs. Now The Chennai Braves require to score 100 runs to win the game. The second inning of the match started after inning breaks with Malan and Rossington at the crease, and Akeal Hosein opened the attack. In the second ball of the first over, Chennai Braves lost their first wicket of Malan. New York Strikers showed their excellent fielding skills as they didn't allow the Chennai Rival to make 20 runs in 5 overs with a loss of 4 wickets. Then, the Chennai Braves started losing wicket after wicket and could not chase the total runs. In the end, New York Striker won the match by 27 runs.
