Mohammed Siraj Replaces Jaspreet Bumrah in T-20 Series Against South Africa

According to the latest cricket news, due to a back injury, Jaspreet Bumrah has been ruled out of the ongoing India vs. SA T20I series and the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2022. As a replacement, team India includes Mohammed Siraj in the team. Bumrah, though being the best, is unable to play at the moment due to injuries. Siraj also has performed well for the team India in many matches and has proven his worth.

There is a high probability that the fast pacer may receive the chance to play in the T-20 WorldCup 2022. The BCCI made this announcement about the change in the team through the Twitter handle.

Bumrah was already not on the team due to the injuries he had. After training at National Cricket Academy, he received a chance to play in the series against Australia. In the second and third matches of the series, the fast bowler got to show his miraculous skills.

However, due to back injuries, the bowler had difficulty proceeding further. Due to the same, he did not play in the first match against South Africa. Mohammed Siraj has shown his worth in international matches. However, he got his recognition through IPL matches.

Siraj has played 5 international T-20 matches, during which he managed to have 5 wickets. Seeing the statistics, people are expecting auspicious things from Siraj. To gain a place in the T-20 World Cup, the bowler must prove his worth in the matches against South Africa in the T-20 series. The matches will happen on 2nd October and 4th October of this year.

In the last T-20 match against Sri Lanka, the bowler proved his worth and facilitated the team with the best performance. This is why having him on the team is good news for team India. Though Bumrah is the best pace bowler in the world at the moment, Siraj is not a bad choice, and his past performances in international matches and IPL support his selection.
