Brisbane Heat pacer Liam Guthrie made an unfortunate record on his name against Melbourne Stars. He gave 70 runs in 4 overs and became the most expensive bowler in BBL.

Liam Guthrie

On 27 December 2021, he became the most expensive bowler in BBL, according to the Big Bash news update.

Brisbane Heat won the toss and elected to field first. Melbourne openers Marcus Stoinis and Joe Clarke came to open, but Stioinis got out on

duck 

on Mark Steketee's ball. Melbourne lost early wickets, but Hilton Cartwright and Joe Clarke made a partnership and played a crucial knock. They hit boundaries all over the park, and Liam Guthrie had no answers, but in the end, he took the wickets of Hilton Cartwright. Melbourne Stars scored 207 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.

In response, Brisbane Heat lost their early wickets, but Chris Lynn and Ben Duckett made a partnership and took care of Brisbane's innings. They didn’t get any support from other batters except Sam Heazlett, who scored 26 runs in 15 balls. In 20 overs, they only scored 187 runs for 9 wickets and lost the match by 20 runs.
