The teams Jaffna Kings and Colombo Stars squared off against each other at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Former team won the toss and opted to bowl first. 

 Chandimal and Dickwella came to the middle on the throw from Perera. In the first over only, Chandimal lost his wicket and the left-handed batter, Charith Asalanka came to the crease. 

 Again, in the 2nd over, Dickwella got out to Shoab Malik and the right-handed batter, Nishan Madushka took the batting charge. In the 3rd over, Asalanka crunched a six and lost his wicket to Perera and after 3 overs, the side got a score of 13 with a loss of 3 wickets. 

 In the 7th over, Bopara crunched a four and one more in the 10th over. He lost his wicket to Jayawickrama, the side crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 53-3 after 10 overs. 

 After 13 overs, CLS jumped to a score of 70 with a loss of 6 wickets. Scoring 35 runs in 44 balls, Madushka lost his wicket to Zaman Khan and the right-handed batter, Benny Howell took the batting charge. Fueling 38 runs in 20 balls for the side, Drakes got a dismissal from Lakshan. Meanwhile, CLS crossed the century, standing at a score of 114-8 after 18 overs.

 In 20 overs, Colombo Stars posted 128 runs with a loss of 8 wickets. 

 To chase down the target of 129 runs, Gurbaz and Avishka Fernando came to the middle on the throw from Rajitha. In the first over only, Fernando bought the first boundary for the side. In the 3rd over from Rajitha, Gurbaz bought one while Fernando smacked two boundaries and JKS got a score of 27. 

 In the 4th over, Gurbaz clubbed two fours and two sixes. In the consecutive over, the side reached half-century with a score of 50. After 9 overs, Rahmullah reached his 50-run stand and the team score jumped to 77. 

 Gurbaz positioned the team at a significant position and got a dismissal from Vandersay after scoring 69 off 40 deliveries. After 12 overs, JKS crossed the century, 105-1. With Fernando standing on the pitch along with Sadeera Samarawickrama, JKS got to a score of 124 with a loss of 2 wickets after 15 overs.

 Jaffna Kings scored 131 runs with a loss of 2 wickets in 15.5 overs and won the match against Colombo Stars by 8 wickets.
