Lanka Premier League 2023: Galle Titans Registered a Thumping Win of 83 Runs Against Kandy

In the 5th match of Lanka Premier League 2023, Galle Titans and B-Love Kandy squared off. Galle Titans won the toss & opt to bat. In their first 10 overs, they had only managed to score 63 runs while losing three wickets. However, Tim Seifert pitched a perfect inning. He went after the Kandy bowlers on a track that was moderately sluggish. He started out with back-to-back fours from Aamer Jamal before destroying him for 6 4 6 in his subsequent over.

Seifert recorded a 24-ball fifty, and even Mujeeb wasn't spared. Shakib joined him, and the two of them put on a 95-run partnership for the fourth wicket off just 52 deliveries. Seifert wasn't only power-hitting; he also ran incredibly hard. He did receive a few pardons, but his knock of 74(39) was outstanding. With a pair of fours, Shanaka put the final touches on his team's 180.

In respond to this massive score, B-Love Chandimal was lost by Kandy in the first over, and they ultimately lost half of their team during the powerplay. Rajitha and Ngarava, the new-ball bowlers, each claimed two wickets, with Samarakoon claiming the last victim. Remember that this was a slow track, and the addition of spin made matters worse for Kandy. AkilaDananjaya completed the innings after Shakib and Shamsi each claimed two wickets. Even though Udana hit three fours and Ashen Bandara smacked two sixes in his 19-ball 27, Kandy was unable to reach the triple digits. In the LPL, this is Kandy's lowest score. Tim Seifert's outstanding performance earlier in the game helped the Titans reach 180, a significant total on a surface where strokemaking was challenging all day. Galle Titans won by 83 runs.
