KKR vs LSG Match Rescheduled: Ram Navami Festivities Take Center Stage!

In a twist that’s got IPL fans buzzing, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) showdown against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens has been bumped from April 6 to April 8. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) dropped the bombshell in a media release on Friday, March 28, shaking up the weekend plans of cricket lovers everywhere.

The rescheduling stems from security concerns tied to the Ram Navami festivities in Kolkata. Kolkata Police and the Cricket Association of Bengal reached out to the BCCI with a plea: move the match. With police personnel stretched thin across the city to manage the celebrations, ensuring safety at the iconic Eden Gardens on April 6 was looking dicey. "The authorities recommended shifting the game to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM IST, and the request has been accommodated accordingly," the BCCI stated. The good news? The rest of the IPL schedule stays untouched.

Originally, April 6 was set to be a double-header Sunday, with KKR vs LSG kicking off in the afternoon, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) facing Gujarat Titans (GT) at 7:30 PM in Hyderabad. Now, Sunday scales back to just the SRH-GT clash at its scheduled evening slot. Meanwhile, Tuesday, April 8, steps up as the new double-header day:

  • 3:30 PM IST: KKR vs LSG at Eden Gardens, Kolkata
  • 7:30 PM IST: Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chandigarh

For IPL enthusiasts, it’s time to tweak those watch-party plans. The shift might throw a curveball at the teams too—will KKR use the extra time to sharpen their home-game edge, or will LSG tweak their playbook for the Tuesday afternoon face-off? One thing’s certain: the electric atmosphere at Eden Gardens is still guaranteed to deliver.
