JAPAN STUNNED FOUR TIME WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS GERMANY WITH 2-1

In the Group E opener at the Khalifa International Stadium, Japan defeated the four time World Cup champions. Japan got two goals later that thrashed Germany in the 3-goal in a thrilling match. The former champions came up on the centre stage for the first time in FIFA World Cup in Qatar as they squared off against the Asian giants, Japan in their tournament opening match. After hustling, Ilkay Gundogan gave a breakthrough to the Germany side against Japan in the first half. Germany got the championship title in the 2014 edition of the World Cup. Japan sidelined Germany with 2-1 to secure all three points in the tournament opening match. What a wonderful performance from Japan. This was the first time in the rich history of the World Cup that Japan got a victory where they conceded first. The side lost 7 matches and their gameplay ended in a draw 2 before posting a come-from-behind victory over Germany.
