The Indian Premier League sets a new record with another season in 2023, the tournament was started on December 23, 2023, at Kochi. The mini-auction was organized where 10 IPL franchises finalized their squads to play the next edition of the T20 premier league. Before the inauguration of the season, the IPL governing council allowed trade-off players for each franchise before updating the list of players. These IPL franchises are directed to submit the retained player list on November 15.

Chennai Super King won the title of the IPL 2023 season by outperforming in the final match. CSK has been on the top list of champions leading the scoreboard from past IPL seasons. The CSK team released all-rounder Dwayne Bravo ahead of IPL 2022, also Robin Uthappa announced his retirement from all cricket forms. Furthermore, CSK released two other big players from the team - Adam Milne & Chris Jordan.

Mumbai Indians lift the trophy of the IPL 2020 season, the team acquired Australian player Jason Behrendorff during the transfer window. All-rounder player of West Indies - Kieron Pollard announced his retirement from IPL, still, Pollard was appointed as batting coach for the MI franchise.
