Kane Williamson endured one of his worst seasons in IPL 2022. He ended the season with 216 runs with a score of just fifty in the entire season.

In SRH's very first game against RR, he fell to a controversial decision. He was controversially given out by the third umpire in the second over of the innings after being caught by Devdutt Padikkal at slip off the bowling of Prasidh Krishna.

The replays showed that Williamson did not edge the ball in the first place and the ball also did not reach Padikkal on the full. However, the third umpire ruled it out and this was the latest IPL cricket news of that time.
