India vs Australia| 3Rd T20I Match: India Restricts Australia at 186/7

After their l6 over shoot-out at Nagpur, India and Australia both travelled over to Hyderabad to play their third and last T20I of the series today. India won the toss and invited Australia to bat first, hoping to reach a more dominating position in the series’ decider match. Talking about the deficiencies, the bowling plainly is where both have weaknesses. India is struggling to establish balance and form in that area, whereas Australia may have the luxury of relying upon Mitchell Starc when they return home. Rohit and Rahul Dravid are in an odd position given that much of the focus of their pre-World Cup preparation has been on educating the larger cricketing community about their new batting attitude. Bhuvneshwar bowled the very first over of the match and conceived 12 runs of it. From the very first over, Cameroon Green took the charge and showed his clear intent against Bhuvneshwar by hitting massive six and a lovely four in the same over. He also hit 2 consecutive sixes in Bumrah’s first over, making it the costliest over of the first three ones. In the fourth over of the Australia’s inning, Axar Patel halted the scoreboard by dismissing the Australia Captain, Aron Finch, in his second over. It was a nice delivery from Axar , and Finch wanted to play a lofted drive but couldn’t get it off the middle of the bat. It was a skier for Hardik Pandya who didn’t miss the catch as he watched it with keen eyes on mid-on and held on rightly. However, this fall of wicket didn’t intimidate Green who smashed three consecutive sixes on the next three deliveries of Axar’s over. In the next over, Green reached his half century in 19 balls and it’s the fastest against India in the T20Is by any cricketer in the world. However, it was Bhuvneshwar who won the mini battle, costing Australia a crucial wicket of Green on the last delivery of the 5th over. Green couldn’t stop him from hitting the wide off delivery from Bhuvi and his bat chased it to hit with the top-edge on the slog. The ball went higher and Rahul caught it at the backward point, dismissing Green straightway. Cameroon’s 52 runs of 21 balls are the most by any batsmen in T20I’s Powerplay against India surpassing Johnson Charles’ 51 runs in Lauderhill in 2016. Maxwell and Steve Smith took the charge to end the batting powerplay with 66 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. However, Maxwell didn’t contribute much to the scoreboard and in the 8th over, an excellent direct throw from Axar sent him to the Australian dressing room. Smith’s batting attitude looked promising in the initial overs of the inning but gave away his wicket to Chahal in a pre-emptive attempt against the bowler. Chahal knew he would come out of the crease and therefore, he pushed the wrong un-quicker, beating Smith and went in the hands of DK who dislodged the bales. Smith got stumped by DK in the 10th over of the Australian inning. After the drink break, Tim David and Josh Inglis kept the scoreboard running with singles and doubles and punishing the loose deliveries from the Indian bowlers. But Rohit Sharma handed the ball to his star bowler tonight, Axar Patel, to break the emerging partnership between the Australian batters and he didn’t disappoint his captain. Josh Inglis and Mathew Wade were dismissed by Axar in his very first over after drinks, bringing India back into the match and breaking the back of Australia tonight. Wade was caught and bowled by Axar who tried an early punch on the delivery and ended up chipping it to the left of Axar. He dived across his follow through to catch it with both hands. Well, it’s Tim David who is taking the inning a bit too deep for Australia. He took charge against Bhuvneshwar and hit 2 consecutive sixes in the 18th over. In the final over, David scored his maiden half-century in T20I for Australia with a six on the first ball of the over. He was soon dismissed by Harshal Patel who balled a slow bouncer and Rohit didn’t do any mistake and caught the skier by David. What a final over by Harshal Patel who conceived only 7 runs of the six balls with a wicket as well. After consistent fall of wickets, Australia succeeded in putting a score of 187 for the Men in Blue tonight.
