India Tour of West Indies: India vs WI 5th T20I Preview
On Sunday, August 13, the fifth and final match of the five-match T20I series between West Indies and India is scheduled to take place. This match will be held at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. India, which was 2-0 down in the series, produced an incredible comeback and managed to tie it with a crushing nine-wicket victory on Saturday. The Men in Blue put on an impressive performance as they successfully chased down 179 with three overs remaining.
For India in T20Is, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill achieved the joint-highest opening partnership of 165. From the beginning, both hitters played attacking cricket and prevented the West Indies from mounting a comeback. Jaiswal batted gracefully, scoring 84 runs off 51 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes to remain unbeaten. While Shubman amassed 77 off 47 with three fours and five sixes until Romario Shepherd claimed his life, the other player made just 47. Shimron Hetmyer made 61 off 39 balls for the hosts, hitting three fours and four sixes, but his efforts were ineffective.
West Indies struggled mightily against the Caribbean batsmen, only managing a par total of 178 for eight, which ultimately proved to be far too low.
Venue: Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida
