India will host West Indies for an 8-match white-ball series, comprising 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. The tour begins on 27 September with the first ODI at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram and ends on 17 October with the fifth T20I at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. All 3 ODIs start at 2:00 PM IST and all 5 T20Is at 7:00 PM IST. Every match is played in India, across 8 different cities.
The tour is split into 2 legs. The ODI series runs first, from 27 September to 3 October. The T20I series follows from 6 October to 17 October.
This is the opening assignment of India's 2026-27 international home season. No 2 matches are played at the same ground, which makes it one of the most widely spread bilateral tours India has hosted in recent years. The gap between fixtures is either 2 or 3 days throughout, so neither side faces back-to-back matches.
The ODI leg opens in the far south, moves to the northeast, then finishes in Punjab. All 3 are day-night matches.
When does the India vs West Indies ODI series 2026 start?
It starts on 27 September 2026. The first ODI is scheduled for 2:00 PM IST at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
The 3 ODI dates fall on a Sunday, a Wednesday and a Saturday, with 2 clear days between the first and second matches and 2 between the second and third. Kerala has not hosted many internationals in recent seasons, so the opener in Thiruvananthapuram is the first among IND vs WI 2026 fixtures of the home summer for much of the south. The third ODI in New Chandigarh is played at Punjab's newer venue, which replaced the PCA Stadium in Mohali as the state's main international ground.
The T20I series begins 3 days after the final ODI and runs for just under 2 weeks. It covers 5 cities, working roughly north to south, from Lucknow down to Bengaluru.
All 5 T20Is are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM IST, subject to any later official scheduling changes.
3 of the 5 T20Is fall on weekend or near-weekend dates, with matches on a Friday, a Sunday and a Saturday. The Bengaluru finale on 17 October carries additional significance beyond the result. It will be the first international match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium since October 2024, after the Karnataka government cleared the ground in January 2026 to resume hosting.
For readers who want the complete picture in one place, here is the full 8-match list in date order.
All matches are broadcast on the Star Sports network and streamed on JioHotstar in India.
Every match in this series is played in India, and each of the 8 IND vs WI 2026 fixtures has its own venue. The ODI leg is spread across 3 regions. Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala hosts the opener at the Greenfield International Stadium, Guwahati in Assam hosts the second ODI at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, and New Chandigarh in Punjab hosts the third at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.
The T20I leg covers 5 further cities. Lucknow hosts the opener at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, followed by Ranchi at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Indore at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, and Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The split is 3 ODI venues and 5 T20I venues, with no repeats.
The timings are consistent across each leg. All 3 ODIs start at 2:00 PM IST as day-night fixtures. All 5 T20Is start at 7:00 PM IST.
Because the start times do not vary from match to match, there is no need to check individual fixtures for different slots. The only thing worth confirming closer to each match is whether the BCCI or the broadcaster has issued any scheduling change, which occasionally happens for logistical or weather reasons.
For readers outside India, the ODIs begin at 8:30 AM GMT and the T20Is at 1:30 PM GMT.
The complete series runs for 21 days, from 27 September to 17 October 2026.
