ICC Under 19 Womens T20 World Cup 2023: New Zealand Women Bundled Out Ireland Women at 74; Won by 9 Wickets

The women squads, New Zealand and Ireland vied against each other on the ground, Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. With both the captains on the pitch, Rebecca Gough and Siuin Woods opened the batting attack on the opening bowling from Browning. 

 

 In the 2nd over, Gough lost her wicket to Codyre and the right-handed batter, Annabel Squires came to the middle. Without hitting any boundaries, Ireland women lost another wicket and after 3 overs, the side got a score of 7-2. 

 

 In the 4th over, Squires bought the first four for the side and after 9 overs, Ireland women shifted up to a score of 36-4. Scoring 14 runs in 15 balls, Harrison got holed out to Codyre on the bowling from Anderson. 

 

 After 12 overs, Ireland women crossed the half-century with a score of 50-5. Fueling 20 runs in 28 balls, Zara Craig lost her wicket to Wakelin. 

 

 Ireland women had a really tough time against the pacing attack of New Zealand women. NZ women bowled out IRE women, restricting them at a score of 74 in 18.1 overs. 

 

 Chasing the target of 75, Browning and Hamilton came to the middle on the opening bowling from Kia McCartney. In the first ball only, Browning hit the first boundary for the side while two more in the consecutive over. After 3 overs, NZ women reached a score of 41. 

 

 Scoring 29 in 14 balls, Browning lost her wicket to Dempsey and the right-handed batter, Georgia Plimmer took the batting charge. After 5 overs, NZ women crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 57-1. In 6.5 overs, New Zealand women scored 75 runs with a loss of just 1 wicket and won the match by 9 wickets.
