Based on the

cricket news, Sri Lanka was the highest run-scorer in the 7th

match of the inaugural season of the T20 World Cup. Defeating Kenya with a commendable performance, Sri Lanka amassed 260 runs in their 20 overs gameplay. From the Lanka squad, Sanath Jayasuriya hit multiple wonderful shots

Sanath Jayasuriya gave a flying start to his team, scoring 100 runs in just 10 overs. He scored an incredible 44 runs in just 44 balls while Mahela Jayawardene played impressive innings of 65 runs in 27 balls. There came the time when hitting the 260 mark looked impossible but Jehan Mubarak joined him along in the final overs and completely owned the show with his impressive batting.

Jehan helped Sri Lanka to achieve 260 runs in 20 overs at a strike rate of 352.84, remaining uneaten after a smash of 46 runs in 13 balls. In that edition, Sri Lanka won the match by a staggering margin of 172 runs.

  • England

The clash between Sri Lanka and South Africa was one of the greatest T20 matches ever. At the Wankhede stadium, both the teams played the thrilling last over in the T20 World Cup 2016. In that edition, after scoring 229 runs in the first innings by South Africa, the run chase for the opponents seemed quite tough as per the cricket news.

During the matches, Joe Root played at a consistent strike rate of 188.6, scoring runs at one end as wickets were falling at the other end. Root scored 83 runs off in just 44 balls, one of the best thumps of his career that helped England overcome the total runs with one ball remaining at the end of the match.

In the T20 World Cup history, the record of 230 runs by England remained the second-highest total.

  • South Africa

Right after England's innings of second-highest total, South Africa has given a score of 229 runs in the first innings that are third-highest in the history of the T20 World Cup as per the latest cricket news.

The star players of South African players like Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, and JP Duminy contributed to three half-centuries in the innings. The opening batter Hashim and De Kock gave South Africa an explosive start, getting the team 96 runs in just 7 overs before Kock lost his wicket to Moeen Ali in the 8th over. With a 60-ball combination to close off the innings, JP Duminy and David Miller played really strong.

  • India

In the 2007 edition of the T20 World Cup, the six sixes by Yuvraj Singh to Stuart Broad in the 21st

game were evergreen performances as it led India to reach 218 runs in 20 overs. He got 58 runs in 16 balls deliveries.

The opening batters Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag had set the groundwork by playing in a 136-run association for the first wicket. To respond, England gave 200 runs but India got the victory by 18 runs.

  • South Africa

In the 2009 edition of the T20 World Cup, South Africa recorded the 5th

highest group total as they unveiled all of their cards against Scotland, scoring

211 runs in 20 overs. AB Devilliers, who scored 79 runs in just 34 balls, including five fours and six massive sixes made huge contributions. The latter responded by being run out for 81 runs, bringing a victory for South Africa with 130 runs victory. For
