ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: South Africa vs Sri Lanka, Preview

South Africa had disappointments after the beginning of the World Cup; however this time they are also favorites, it can be a gift in disguise. They won the most recent ODI series against Australia at home, which will give the team more confidence. In the past five years, they had a decent record against Sri Lanka, and Bavuma would like his team to draw encouragement from this and make a strong start to their campaign.

Since the 1987 competition, this Sri Lankan team has been the worst. The previous ten years have been difficult for their cricket, and the team that once boasted of champions no longer has the match-winning players we've known. The Lankan captain must approach each game as it arises, and he hopes his team puts in a strong performance.
