FIFA Womens World Cup 2023: China Secured 1st Women World Cup's Win Against Haiti

FIFA Women's World Cup 2023: China Secured 1st Women World Cup's Win Against Haiti In Friday's 1-0 victory over Haiti at Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide, Wang Shuang kept China's Women's World Cup campaign alive by converting a penalty. The Asian team displayed amazing resolve to earn victory despite being one player short. On Tuesday, the Steel Roses, who have two wins and three points in Group D, take on England. After two losses, Haiti has no points but can still advance if they defeat Denmark the same day and other outcomes go their way. China controlled the ball from the beginning and came close to taking the lead in a dramatic way in the 16th minute when Lou Jiahui managed to direct an acrobatic effort towards goal, but Haitian goalkeeper Kerly Theus easily stopped the strike. The momentum, however, immediately changed when Zhang Rui was sent for a risky high tackle on Sherly Jeudy in the 29th minute. China defended resolutely to protect themselves from endless waves of raids as the Caribbean team tried to capitalize on their advantage and had a goal disallowed for offside just before halftime.
