England’s Win Over Sri Lanka Knocked Australia Out of the T20 World Cup 2022

England’s Win Over Sri Lanka Knocked Australia Out of the T20 World Cup 2022 The defending champion of T20 World Cup, Australia, is now eliminated from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 after England defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in their final Super 12 game on Saturday in Adelaide. England completed their target with two balls to spare thanks to excellent death bowling from Mark Wood (3-26) and Sam Curran, who held Sri Lanka to 141 for eight. In order to maintain a secure spot in the semi-final race earlier, Australia needed to win by a big margin. Although this victory earned them two important points, it did little to raise their NRR. In comparison to England's +0.547, their NRR is at -0.173. Pathum Nissanka's dismissal for 67 in the 16th over of the Asia Cup champions' innings appeared to have ended Australia's prospects of moving on, which had depended on a Sri Lankan upset to remain alive. Together with Group 1 champions New Zealand, England earned a position in the last four. On Sunday, the two Group 2 semi-finalists will be chosen. If South Africa and India defeat the Netherlands and Zimbabwe, respectively, on Sunday to prevent Pakistan, who plays Bangladesh, from advancing, they would likely join New Zealand and England in the semifinals.
