For the toss of the ENG vs AFG match, the captains of both teams came up for the toss and England won it and elected to bowl first on the pitch of Perth Stadium, Perth. Adding just 7 runs off 17 balls, Hazratullah Zazai got out to Stokes and the score moved to 37-2 after 7 overs. With Zadran standing tough on the pitch, Afghans got up crossing 55-2 after 10 overs. Zadran scored 32 off 32 and Sam Curran took his crucial wicket and the team had a score of 89-4 after 15 overs. Afghan batters made cumulative efforts of posing 112 runs in 19.4 overs with loss of all the wickets. For the run chase of 113, England batters Buttler and Hales came to the middle to encounter the bowling of Fazalhaq Farooqi. Buttler made a great start getting off the mark of the boundary in just the 2nd ball and crunched another four in the next over, bringing the team to a score of 14 after 2 overs. With Alex Hales and Dawid Malan on the pitch, the side crossed the mark of the half-century with a score of 50-1 after 8 overs. Malan giving some hope to the England fans, he helped the team, moving the score up to 71-3 after 12 overs. Livingstone played in his wonderful form and helped the team to cross the century with a score of 100-5 after 16 overs.
