England vs West Indies, 2nd ODI: Sam Curran's Comeback Helped England Level the Series 1-1 Against WI

The 2nd ODI of England vs West Indies Series was played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on December 06, 2023. England won the toss and opted to bowl first. West Indies was bowled out after Buttler won the toss. Sam Curran, who had a terrible first game, made amends by taking out the top-order with a three-fer. That established the tone, and despite a 129-run partnership between Rutherford and Hope, the left-hander's quick dismissal and Hope's subsequent loss put the West Indies behind. Shepherd and the other players lower down the order also did not last long since they chose to play their shots against the spinners. Hope was once again batting at the top of the innings when Livingstone got one to rip past the bat, and England never looked back. Sam Curran's confidence has increased significantly since the previous game, while the spinners Rehan and Livingstone have continued to perform well during the powerplay.

In reply, with a scorching hit at the top of the order, Jacks had set up the chase, but Buttler and Brook's 90-run partnership secured an early end. When Windies edged out Jacks with 87 remaining to win, it appeared as though they had opened a small opportunity. Buttler onto the field, played a couple of balls and then batted like he was always in form. After that, he batted exceptionally well to make sure everything went smoothly and also managed to score a fifty. Earlier, the Windies had to contend with a collapse at the top and at the end in order to muster just 202 in less than 40 overs. They were never given enough runs to work with, and the English openers, Salt and Jacks, struck for fifty runs in less than six overs. And after their rapid start, there was no stopping them. Stay back to see the presentations. Because of his outstanding spell at the beginning of the game, Curran must be named Player of the Match.
