At the end of day 3, England was at 28-2 and Joe Root and Ollie Pope were playing. Both the batter resumed the batting and Scott Boland resumed the bowling

 In the 12th over, Joe Root smashed back-to-back three boundaries. In the 13th over, England reached 50 runs on the last ball. In the 14th over, Root started the over with a four and Ollie Pope hit a four on the fourth ball. In the 17th over, Ollie Pope hit a four on the fourth ball and got out after scoring 14(16) on the last ball. In the 22nd over, Harry Brook hit a four on the first ball and Englnd reached 100 runs. After 25 overs, England was at 129-3. In the 26th over, Root got out after scoring 46(55) on the first ball. In the 33th over, England reached 150 runs. In the 34th over, Harry Brook got out after scoring 46(52) on the fourth ball. After the end of session 1, England was at 155-5.

 In the 43th over, Ben Stokes hit back-to-back two fours. In the 45th over, Bairstow hit back-to-back two fours. In the 46th over, Bairstow got out after scoring 20(39) on the third ball. In the 47th over, Moeen Ali hit a four on the fifth ball and England reached 200 runs. In the 49th over, Stokes got out after scoring 43(66) on the second ball. In the 55th over, Moeen Ali got out after scoring 19(31) on the fourth ball. In the 59th over, England reached 250 runs. In the 62th over, Robinson got out after scoring 27(44) on the fifth ball and Anderson finished the over with a four. In the 67th over, Anderson got out after scoring 12(14) on the second ball and it was the last wicket of England and they took the lead of 280 runs and gave Australia a target of 281 runs.

 Chasing 281 runs, Khawaja and Warner came to bat and Anderson opened the bowling attack. In the 1st over, Khawaja smashed back-to-back two fours. In the 14th over, Warner started the over with a four and Khawaja hit a four on the fifth ball. In the 15th over, Khawaja hit a four on the fifth ball and Australia reached 50 runs. In the 18th over, Warner started the over with a four and got out after scoring 36(57) on the fourth ball. In the 19th over, Labuschagne finished the over with back-to-back two fours. In the 22nd over, Labuschagne got out after scoring 13(15) on the third ball. In the 26th over, Smith got out after scoring 6(13) in the third ball. In the 28th over, Australia reached 100 runs.

 After the end of day 4, Australia was at 107-3 and Scott Boland 13(19) and Usman Khawaja 34(81) were playing.
