‘Eoin Morgan single handedly turned it around, and it's been a process over eight years when you look at the depth in terms of white-ball cricket that England possesses. It's pretty scary actually. So even with the injuries that happened in this World Cup, and the guys who missed out on the squad, the strength and depth is amazing to see. It started with Morgs, but it's kept on going and Jos has taken that on as probably the best white-ball batter in the world and as skipper now, it's the next step of his journey.’

‘I actually feel like I've trained really, really well in the last couple of months. I know it hasn't flowed into the games as yet, but that's the beauty of it - I know it's just around the corner. And I remember going back to that day (against Pakistan in January 2017) with Davey (Warner) at the other end, he went at a million miles an hour and took the pressure off me. So I think as a batting partnership, we'll bounce off each other really well.’
