Caribbean Premier League 2023: The Match Abandoned Due to Rain; Turned Out to Be Disappointing Weekend

Saint Lucia Kings & St Kitts and Nevis Patriots came against each other in the 6th match CPL 2023 at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Last week wasn't great for CPL, as three matches were abandoned due to rain and this match became the 4th match. As there has been a lot of rain this weekend, conditions were looking good and rain was a concern. Due to rain, the toss was delayed and the 1st inspection took place at 7 pm.

It is frustrating to sit on the sideline, said Malolan Rangarajan, the SKP coach. He added that conditions are good for players. After the inspection, the umpire decided that conditions were not improved. Umpired decided that they would come and would have another inspection at 8:15 p.m.

The groundman tried to move the rain water from the grounds but there was no rain that allowed some cricket to happen. The umpires decided to call off the match as conditions had not improved a lot. Both teams shared one point each.
