Caribbean Premier League 2023: The 5th Match Between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals Abandoned Without a Ball Bowled

Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals came against each other in the 5th match of CPL 2023 at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. 

The 5th match of the IPL washed out and it became the third match of CPL that was abandoned due to rain. Both the teams were the previous seasons' finalists and Tallawahs was the match's winner. At the time of the toss, the rain was heavy and the covers were on. Umpires went into the field and there was too much water. It was a sign that it was difficult to continue the match anytime soon.

After 30 minutes, both umpires had a chat with both the camps as the rain continued. After talking to both the centers, they called off the match as conditions were not looking good and both the teams shared one point each.

However, an interesting point is that Jamaica Tallawahs was the winner of the previous season and Rovman Powell was captain. But he is leading the opposition Barbados Royals this season. Brandon King is leading Jamaica Tallawahs this season.
