Caribbean Premier League 2023, Final: Guyana Lifted Their First Title After Five Losses

Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors came against each other in the final of the CPL at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Walton and Mark Deyal came to bat and Pretorius opened the bowling attack. Walton smashed the first boundary of the match on the fourth ball of the first over. Mark Deyal started the 3rd over with a six and hit a four on the fourth ball and got out after scoring 16(9) on the fifth ball. In the 4th over, Walton hit a four on the first ball and got out after scoring 10(11) on the third ball. In the 5th over, Pooran got out after scoring 1(5) on the last ball. After 6 overs, TKR was at 41-3.

In the 7th over, Pollard got out for a duck on the third ball and Akeal Hosein got out after scoring 1(2) on the last ball. In the 10th over, Russell got out after scoring 3(5) on the third ball and TKR reached 50 runs on the fourth ball. In the 14th over, Dwayne Bravo hit a four on the second ball and Keacy Carty smashed a six on the fourth ball. In the 15th over, Dwayne Bravo got out after scoring 8(18) on the second ball. After 15 overs, TKR was at 83-7.

In the 16th over, Narine got out after scoring 1(4) on the third ball and Ali Khan got out after scoring 1(2) on the last ball. In the 19th over, Keacy Carty got out after scoring 38(45) on the first ball.

In 18.1 overs, Trinbago Knight Riders got all out at 94 runs.Chasing 95 runs, Saim Ayub and Keemo Paul came to bat and Akeal Hosein opened the bowling attack. In the 2nd over, Keemo Paul hit two fours on the fourth and last ball. In the 3rd over, Keemo Paul got out after scoring 11(11) on the third ball. After 6 overs, GAW was at 29-1.

In the 7th over, Saim Ayub smashed a six on the third and last ball. Saim Ayub finished the 9th over with a six and GAW reached 50 runs. In the 12th over, Shai Hope took a single on the first ball and the partnership between Saim Ayub and Shai Hope reached 50 runs. In the 14th over, Saim Ayub smashed a six, four, and six on the third, fifth, and last ball. Guyana scored 99-1 and won the match by 9 wickets.
