Caribbean Premier League 2023, 28th Match: Guyana Won the Match by 6 Wickets in One-Sided Match Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders came against each other in the 28th match of the CPL at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and decided to bowl first. Guptill and Mark Deyal came to bat and Pretorius opened the bowling attack. In the 2nd over, Guptill ran out after contributing only 1 run. After the initial blow, Mark Deyal and Walton made a partnership for the second wicket. Keemo Paul broke this partnership in the 5th over after sending Mark Deyal to the pavilion.
He contributed 37 runs. The Knights scored 49 runs in the power play. Keacy Carty came to bat next and made a partnership with Walton for the third wicket. They made a partnership with 59 runs for the third wicket and Walton got out in the 14th wicket. Pollard came to bat and Carty ensured that the partnership would go longer. However, Pollar contributed only 9 runs. Carty scored a half-century and scored only 83 runs. In the end, Trinbago’s batter couldn’t score runs and kept losing wickets.
Keacy Carty was the highest successful batter with 83 runs, followed by Mark Deyal with 37 runs, Walton with 25 runs. Tahir took three wickets and was the highest wicket-taker, followed by Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, and Pretorius who shared 1 wicket. In 20 overs, Trinbago Knight Riders scored 176 runs with a loss of 8 wickets. Chasing 177 runs, Saim Ayub and Odean Smith came to bat and Akeal Hosein opened the bowling attack. Both the batter gave them a great start and made the most out of the powerplay.
Guyana scored 56 runs without losing any wicket. Saim Ayub returned to the pavilion in the next over after scoring 37 runs. Shai Hope came to bat and made a partnership of 61 runs for the second wicket. In the 13th over, Odean Smith got out after scoring 44(32) and missed his half-century. After this wicket, Hetmayer came to bat but returned to the pavilion in the next over. Shai Hope was holding on to one end and ensured that their team would chase the target. In the end, Azam Khan and Dwaine Pretorius contributed to the winning cause. Guyana Amazon Warriors scored 177-4 and won the match by 6 wickets.
