Caribbean Premier League 2023 11th Match: Guyana Amazon Warriors Won by 34 Runs Against Jamaica Tallawahs

In the 11^th match of CPL 2023, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs squared off. JT won the toss and opted to bowl first. GAW didn't have a good start as they lost 3 wickets on just 22 runs. What an unbelievable turnaround from the Warriors, going from 22/3 to 210/7. The Tallawahs got off to a strong start thanks to Green and Amir, but Hetmyer and Hope combined for a 50+ stand to steady the ship before Keemo and Hetty began a vicious attack. Important hits down in the order made sure they had a very strong total. You can never be certain of the score on the board, though, because of the short boundaries and the pitch's continued suitability for batsmen who can adjust to the pace of the surface. The Warriors needed their bowlers to perform well.

In the run chase, it appeared as though the Warriors would easily win after establishing a huge score on the board because they took 4 wickets during the powerplay. Romario Shepherd produced a double-wicket maiden and was superb. In the seventh over, they lost their fifth wicket, and it appeared to be all but over. In the field, where they hung on to some incredible catches, the Warriors appeared to be at the top of their game. Imad Wasim and Fabian Allen, on the other hand, weren't going down without a fight. To keep the Warriors on their toes, they put together a 97-run stand for the sixth wicket and delivered some lusty hits. But just as it seemed the Tallawahs could have a chance, Tahir expelled Wasim. The Tallawahs were too far down in the match to catch up, despite a few costly overs in the end. Even though it seemed like it would be a one-sided contest, Wasim and Allen managed to keep their team in the game. The Warriors had a fairly easy victory, but they will want to examine their bowling and work on being more disciplined. Unfortunately, not much went their way today for the Tallawahs. They will need to organize their batting and give some of their shot choices a good, serious look.
