With Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner on the pitch, New Zealand scored a total of 167 in 20 overs with a loss of 7 wickets. In the SL vs NZ match, Nissanka and Kusal Mendis rolled up their sleeves for the run chase of 168 to begin facing the bowling attack of Southee. The wicket down of Mendis to Boult was another loss for Sri Lanka and SL had just the score of 5 with a huge loss of 3 wickets after 2 overs.
