At Junction Oval, Melbourne, Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers came against each other for the 12th match of BBL. Perth Scorchers won the toss and opted to bat first. 

Lyth and du Plessis came to unveil the batting attack on the opening bowling of . Boult. In the first ball only, Lyth crunched a four while Plessis brought two boundaries and a six in the immediate over. After 3 overs, PRS scored 26 runs.

Scoring just 7 runs off 8 balls, Lyth lost his wicket to Stoinis and the left-handed batter, Nick Hobson took the batting charge. With Plessis standing tough for the side, PRS crossed the half-century with a score of 51-1 after 6 overs. 

In the 9th over, Plessis smacked two fours and a six in back-to-back deliveries from Coulter-Nile and he crossed his 50-run stand as well. Fueling 68 runs in 33 balls, Plession got a dismissal from Luke Wood. After 10 overs, the side crossed the century with a score of 104-2. 

On the 12th over from Stoinis, Inglis drilled two sixes and a four. Scoring 46 runs in 26 balls, Hobson lost his wicket to Boult. After 15 overs, PRS jumped to a score of 155-4. Inglis got to his 50-run stand and lost to Wood, scoring 74 off 33 deliveries. 

In 20 overs, PRS posted 229 runs with a loss of 7 wickets. 

For the run chase of 230 runs, Joe Clarke and Thomas Rogers came to the middle with J Richardson on the opening bowling attack. In the 2nd over, Rogers smacked two boundaries and Clarke drilled a six and two fours in the consecutive over, getting a score of 32 after 3 overs. 

Adding 18 runs in 11 balls, Clarke lost his wicket to Behrendorff and the right-handed batter, Beau Webster came to the middle. After 7 overs, MLS crossed the century with a score of 54-3. 

In the 13th over, Larking lost to Peter Hatzoglou after scoring 34 in 24 balls and the boys managed to cross the century with a score of 105-4. On the throw from Tye in the 17th over, Kellaway and Wood got a six and a four respectively, jumping up to a score of 139-6. In 20 overs, MLS scored 168 runs with a loss of 8 wickets. 

Perth Scorchers won the BBL match against Melbourne Stars by 61 runs.
