Big Bash League 2022: Melbourne Renegades Won by 22 Runs Against Brisbane Heat

At Cazaly's Stadium, Cairns, the teams Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades came to the crease where the former team won the toss and chose to field first. 

 

Sam Harper and Maddinson came on the opening batting attack with Xavier Bartlett on the bowling attack. In the 2nd over, Harper bought the first boundary for the side while Maddinson smacked two fours and two sixes in the immediate over. The side reached a score of 40 after 3 overs. 

 

Nailing one more boundary in the next over, the side reached the half-century, standing at a score of 50-4 after 4 overs. 

 

Scoring 21 runs in 15 balls, Harper lost his wicket to Bazley and the right-handed batter, Jake Fraser McGurk took the batting charge. 

 

With Nic Maddinson standing tough for the side, MLR jumped to a score of 76-2 after 9 overs. In the 13th over, Nic Maddinson nailed 5 beautiful boundaries, crossing the century with a score of 109-4. Fueling a huge score of 87 in 49 balls, he lost his wicket to Kuhnemann. 

 

In 20 overs, MLR posted 166 runs with a loss of 7 wickets. For the run chase of 167, Josh Brown and Bryant came to the middle with Akeal Hosein on the opening bowling attack. In the first over only, Hosein dismissed Bryant. 

 

On the throw from Mujeeb in the 2nd over, Brown bought the first six for the side who lost his wicket on the throw from Hosein, scoring just 7 runs in 10  balls. After 3 overs, the side reached a score of 14-2. Munro kept crunching boundaries and sixes in the next overs and the side crossed the half-century, standing at a score of 51-3 after 9 overs. 

 

In the 11th over, Peirson smacked two sixes and a four, the score of the team jumped to 77 with a loss of 3 wickets. Fueling 35 runs in 30 balls, Munro lost his wicket to K Richardson. 

 

In the 15th over, Peirson also lost his wicket to Akeal Hosein, scoring 43 in 30 balls, BRH crossed century with a score of 105-5 after 15 overs. 

 

In 20 overs, BRH scored 144 runs with a loss of 6 wickets and lost the match to MLR by 22 runs.
