At Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, teams India and Bangladesh squared off against each other. The latter team won the toss and chose to bat first. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah stood tough for Bangladesh and positioned the team to a significant position. The duo helped the side to post 271 runs on the scoreboard. From the India side, Washington Sundar managed to dismiss 3 Bangladeshi batters. For the 272 run chase, Kohli and Dhawan came to the crease to open the batting attack with Mehidy Hasan Miraz on the bowling side. In the first ball only, Miraz bought the first boundary of the innings. The hope of Indian team, Kohli, left the pitch early on the throw from, bringing just 5 runs in 6 balls to Ebadot Hossain. After 2 overs, India got 7 runs with a loss of 1 wicket. Shockingly, Dhawan also got a dismissal from Mustafizur. After 10 overs, the side got to a score of 39-3. With Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul on the pitch, India crossed the half-century with a score of 53-3 after 14 overs. In the 20th over, Iyer and Axar bought two boundaries and a six respectively. Iyer kept drilling more boundaries for the side. Iyer stood tall for team India and helped it cross the century with a score of 106-4 after 23 overs and he got to his 50-run stand. After 29 overs, the boys managed to move the score up to 137-4 after 29 overs. Iyer tossed the ball up for multiple sixes and boundaries, jumping up to a score of 179-5 after 35 overs. Meanwhile, Iyer lost his wicket to Miraz after scoring 82 in 102 balls. In the 36th over, Axar also got to his 2nd ODI 50 and kept getting glorious boundaries. Adding 56 runs in 56 balls for India, Axar also lost his wicket to Ebadot Hossain. On the over from Mustafizur, Chahar smacked a six and the side got up to a score of 204-6 after 42 overs. Getting just 11 runs in 18 balls, he got a dismissal from Ebadot Hossain. The 46th over was great for Indian batters as Rohit crunched two sixes and a four, getting up to a score of 231-8 after 46 overs.  After 47 overs, India got to 232-8. Rohit was powerful in the death overs as he bought two more sixes in the 49th over while two fours and a six in the last over. In the clash between Ind and Ban for 2nd ODI, India scored 266 with a loss of 9 wickets and lost to Bangladesh by 5 runs.
