Bangladesh vs Afghanistan, Only Test, Day 2 Summary
With Najmul Hossain Shanto dominating the batting charts, Bangladesh thoroughly enjoyed themselves on Day 1 of the lone Test match against Afghanistan, reaching 362 runs for the cost of just five wickets. Mahmudul Hasan Joy provided Shanto with some company while contributing 76 runs to his 146-run total. The Afghans struck early to bowl the hosts out for 382, but the hosts were unable to add much to their Day 1 tally. The Lankans destroyed the Afghans with the ball, rattling the entire batting lineup. After bowling out Afghanistan for 146, Bangladesh didn't enforce follow-on. Early in the second inning, they lost Mahmudul Hasan Joy, but Shanto and Zakir Hasan had a significant combination that allowed them to increase their lead. In the latter hours of the day, both of the top-order batters hit their respective fifties. This Test still has plenty of time left, but Bangladesh will try to finish it tomorrow.
