Aus vs. Eng T20I Series: Buttler & Hales Astound Australia to Help England Win 1st T20I by 8 Runs

Perth will have a run-fest at the Optus Stadium to welcome back cricket for the first time since March 2020. Australia won the toss and invited the guest to play first. Jos Buttler, who missed the Pakistan tour, played his outstanding knock of 68 runs off 32 balls.

In addition, Hales blasted off to score 84 runs in 51 deliveries. Jos Buttler and Hales built a partnership of 132 runs in 11.2 overs. Nathan Ellis dismissed Jos Buttler. England kept smashing boundaries to the fine and spearing deliveries of the Australian pacers. After 20 overs, England successfully posted 208 runs on the scoreboard after losing 6 wickets in the inning. 208 was a decent target on the ground, like Perth.

Australia started strong, with Warner appearing to be in excellent condition. But, in the second over, Green was dismissed by Wood at just 1 (2). However, Marsh and Warner stabilized the Australian inning till they reached 86 in 8.3 overs. Adil Rashid dismissed Marsh in the 9th and 11th over; Finch was sent back to the pavilion as he got run out by Sam Curran. Marsh, Finch, and Stoinis all contributed in a significant way.

The hosts were briefly ahead of the rate until Wood struck three times to end the innings, dismissing Stoinis and Tim David in the same over. Despite Warner's 73 off 44 deliveries and Wade's explosive cameo, Australia could not bounce back from those blows and lost in the final over. Australia could only reach 200 off 20 overs at a loss of 9 wickets. Well, it was a fine game, and both teams showcased their talents and cricketing skills today.

However, England had the last laugh as they beat Australia in the first T20I of the series by 8 runs. Despite being victorious in the game, England didn't have everything right as per their will. These two teams are the favorites to win the T20 World Cup, so seeing them square off before the big game is a feast. Stay tuned with CBTF Speed News for more updates on cricket and live scores!
