Asia Cup, 2023: Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, Preview

The second match of super four is scheduled at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. This is the fourth venue of this tournament after Multan, Pallekele, and Lahore and all remaining matches will be played here.

Sri Lanka is coming here as a table topper after winning their both matches but it is essential to take into account that they didn’t dominate their opponent. In the first match against Bangladesh, they struggled to chase 165 runs and managed to win by 5 wickets somehow. In the next match against Afghanistan, they were about to lose but won the match by 2 runs in the end. Afghanistan reached 292 runs in just 37.1 overs and made the Sri Lankan bowling attack miserable.

On the other hand, Bangladesh has also struggled in the batting departments. Except the experienced pair, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib al Hasan only Nazmul Shanto were able to score runs who had been ruled out of the tournament due to hamstring. It has weakened the Bangladesh batting attack. However, the bowling department has been courageous and done a tremendous job.
